YOU DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS ZOOM SINGERS GROUP?
If you are reading about this Zoom Singers Group for the first time, see below for more
information. And if you would like to join us on Sunday, April 30 at 2PM EST, let me know by this Thursday, April 27 at this email: barbara@barbaralewis.com.
HERE IS THE DESCRIPTION OF THE GROUP SESSION, FOR THOSE WHO ARE NEW TO MY EMAIL
LIST!
I'm looking for ways to inspire mature singers with warm-ups and conversation about singing in a bi-monthly (every 2 weeks) group meeting on Zoom. Due to the 2-second lag time on Zoom, you would turn your sound off when you warm up. So we
will see one another, but you will only hear yourself and me.
I find that many singers who are not performing very often or do not have much contact with other singers, could benefit from some singing friendship. My thinking is that each of these Zoom sessions would last, at most, 40 minutes.
We would warm up together for 10-15 minutes and then talk about singing for
20 - 30 minutes. I will suggest a theme for our discussion. And I will moderate to be sure that anyone who wants to contribute will get a chance to speak. But there will be no pressure. You may only want to listen! These
zoom sessions will be open to singers at any level. Perhaps, if the sessions work for us, we could later add a bit of time for one or two people per session to sing a song - or even just a portion of a song.
Some ideas about themes to start our conversations:
- Are you having any problems with your singing this week?
- Have you discovered something about technique you would like to share?
- Is there a singer who has inspired you lately or a song that you think is especially good for you?
- Can
you share your approach to learning a song?
- What kinds of songs really move you and why?
