 I hope you have had a good week and your singing is improving and giving you pleasure. This week's video is about an issue that many singers struggle with...

Sometimes our chest voice does not blend easily into the head voice - especially as we rise in the range. This can keep singers (more often women, than men) from singing songs that have a wide range. In the last several weeks, I have heard from two women for whom this is a big headache. Here is what one person wrote: "I'm 53 and taught myself to sing as a child to my Annie cassette tape, but I've never mastered the technical problems of voice cracking. My chest voice doesn't reach high, so there are very few songs indeed that I can sing with confidence. Please could you make a video about the problem area between chest and head registers?"

This week's video offers an exercise to help with this. It's a delicate process and it takes time. Have a look!

Sometimes  we singers get stuck in a groove with our voices. Nothing much changes. The same problems greet us day to day. Singing lessons can give you a needed boost, when they come at the right time.
